Chago Engineering and German Hoover Partner to Sell Eco-Friendly Coolant

Chago Engineering has teamed up with Germany's Hoover to tap into the domestic chiller coolant market.

Chago Engineering said it has passed the quality assessment conducted by Hoover and has established a channel to supply cooling materials to Hoover chiller customers.

A chiller is a cooling device that controls the temperature of equipment or a space, absorbing and releasing heat through the coolant. Hoover will promote the GCL Series, an eco-friendly coolant made by Chago Engineering.

The GCL Series is characterized by being a hydrocarbon-based product that does not contain PFAS. The fluid is safe for human consumption and has been certified as 'food grade'. In December last year, GCL-70, which has a cooling temperature range of -70~160℃, was released, and GCL-10, which has a cooling temperature range of -5~250℃, is also on sale.

Chago Engineering was founded in 2020 by Kim Hyung-kyu, the youngest CEO of SK hynix, through an internal venture program. It supplies eco-friendly cooling materials to the market at a price that is 30% lower than Chinese companies that have recently accelerated their market penetration.

The company expects the collaboration with Hoover to help it find a wide range of customers.

Hoover has been in business since 1968 and manufactures and sells industrial chillers, laboratory chillers, chillers for chemical process heat removal, and chillers for cooling technical plants. Through the collaboration with Chago Engineering, the company expects to expand its presence in the semiconductor chiller sector, which requires customized designs.

“The GCL series of eco-friendly coolants will be distributed to all chiller companies through a separate agency,” said an official from Chago Engineering. ”We will also select additional agents for overseas sales in China, Vietnam, Taiwan, and the United States.”
