Chago Interviews That Second Interview Department

hello. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and the two development teams?

Hello, my name is Minjoon Kang and I work in the development team 2.

I've been with the company for a little over a year and a half. I'm working on electronics design, writing electronics programs, PLC - HDMI, and equipment testing.

Q. From product development to shipping, there's no place where the development team doesn't have a hand in it, so it's a very important department!

Yeah, yeah, it's a really important department because you have to have a development team to make the product.

What do you think are the best benefits of working at Chago Engineering?

I think it's best for us to have a place like this where we can do interviews, or where we can relax on the couch during lunch... where it's comfortable.

The interior feels cool and spacious rather than stuffy, so I feel safe when I'm working, and I think it's good to have a comfortable temperature and safety equipment that contributes to accident prevention.

I have a workshop coming up soon, is there a place you'd like to go?

I mean, let's be realistic about this, it's November, it's fall, and I want it to feel like a picnic under a mountain.

Q. Do you mean like a valley or something?

Mountains rather than valleys. I'm not saying I want to climb mountains, but I do want to be in a location where I can see them and enjoy the scenery and activities.

Q. Where was the last workshop?

Last time I went to an island called Zebudo, it's not on a boat, it's connected by bridges, so it's easy to get around, but we went there and rode the cable car and did some activities and had a lot of fun.

Q. What would you like to see on the menu at your upcoming workshop or dinner?

The most bland and flavorful meat is best, and popular cuts of pork are great.

How do you feel you've evolved since you first joined the company?

First of all, aside from the fact that an individual's skill level will naturally increase with experience, I've learned that you have to take time to relax even when things are urgent or busy.

Working under pressure tends to lead to more mistakes, so I try to take it easy, write down my to-do list on paper and organize it in order from 1 to 10.

What's your favorite thing you've done since joining the company?

One of my favorite memories is when I was stumped on how to solve the control scheme going into the sterling and finally figured it out. Taking advice from my boss, tinkering with the circuits, and figuring it out on my own was the most rewarding part, and I think it made everything a little easier after that.

What do you think are the advantages of having two development teams?

I think the atmosphere in Dev 2 is great, and the free flow of communication between team members allows for a lot of creative ideas and development sources to be drawn from, which is a positive thing for my work.

Q. When I think of development, I think of quietly tinkering with circuits or writing code by myself, but I was surprised to find that it requires creative discussion~.

Yeah, you don't create new code or circuits, you have to apply programs that have already been created, and you have to adapt them, and you have to ask your seniors or gunners for codes that you didn't know before, and you have to coordinate the development direction, so communication skills are really important.

Q. I think new employees can really learn a lot when they come in because they don't feel intimidated to ask questions and feel comfortable discussing things they don't understand.

Yeah, and development is great because you're involved in the product from start to finish, so you get to learn a lot of different things.

What skills do I need to join the development team?

I think you have to be proactive and not be afraid to speak up, and when your team leader or someone tells you something, you don't just take it at face value, you have to think about it and see if you missed something.

Q. It's important to discuss, to think creatively on your own, to work in teams... It's interesting because you seem to be describing the realm of design and art, not development.

I think all roads lead to the same place. I'm an electronics major, and I have to go through this major to be in a development team. It's not about that, it's more about having a clear sense of purpose and will.

Do you have any tips for interviewers looking to join Chago Engineering?

I think it's important to be assertive and communicate, but too much of that can be a double-edged sword. I think you need to be assertive with a touch of discretion. It's important to be assertive when you need to be and where you can.

Q. So what kind of questions do you ask in an interview?

In terms of the development team, we first ask if they have experience using programs such as electronics, mechanical design, and 3D design, and from a larger perspective, we ask if they have an understanding of chillers, and if they know the principles of automation programs or systems, because Chago Engineering is an eco-friendly chiller R&D brand. It's not necessary to know all the principles and tools, but I can give preferential treatment in that regard, and I think the most important thing in an interview is a positive attitude.

Finally, do you have any advice for those looking to get into Chago engineering?

Chago Engineering is a brand that specializes in chillers, so I think job seekers who are preparing for the interview will have a better result if they come to the interview with the concept of what a chiller is. Good luck!

Today, we had the pleasure of interviewing Minjun Kang from Dev 2.

It was really interesting to learn how vast the work of Dev 2 is and what's important for development.

Next time, we will be interviewing the Development 1 team at the Hwaseong branch of Chago Engineering, so please look forward to the next post!

That's all from Jung Ae-Reum from the Management Support Team.

Thank you very much~!
